"So," Kathryn finally caught up with Chakotay in the corridor on the way to
the bridge. "How did it go with barbie borg?"

Chakotay rolled his eyes, "It was alright I guess."

She nodded slowly, "You guess..." They walked in silence for a few minutes,
"So," she started again, mischief twinkling in her eyes, "Did you build her a
bathtub?"

Chakotay stopped and looked at her for a few seconds. He noticed the laughter
in her eyes and started walking again, "I wasn't there long enough."

She nodded again, "Not even a monkey huh?"

He laughed, then shrugged and looked at her, "Well you know how it is. Right
setting, wrong woman."

That drew her up short, she stared after him blinking, a goofy smile slowly
spreading across her face. She quickly recovered and trotted to catch up with
him. "So exactly what woman would you have preferred?"

"Oh you know, tall, brunette, green--OUCH!" He stopped and rubbed the spot on
his arm where she'd punched him. He shook his head as she stomped off down
the corridor. "Well I'd have gone for short, red, and blue-eyed, but that
didn't work last time either!"

She stopped and turned slowly, eyes narrowed, "Well that just goes to show
what you know." She turned again, but paused for a moment then turned back,
"And I am not short."

He grinned broadly and winked, "Who said I meant you?" He closed the space
between them, "Of course, there really isn't anyone else I'd rather be stuck
on a planet alone with." He leaned toward her, like he was going to kiss her,
but brushed past her instead. "I'll see you on the bridge, Captain."

She sighed contentedly and smiled, indulging for a few moments in her own
self assuredness. Then she turned and walked quickly down the corridor to
catch up with him.
